Seger's Production

90% of Segers' range is made by their own staff. Segers was an early adopter of taking responsibility for good working conditions for all employees. For many years, their code of conduct has been a natural part of the work to ensure healthy working conditions in their factories and at their suppliers. Segers has had complete control over their production facilities for many years, which are located in Pakistan, Estonia, and Ukraine. In recent years, they have added a unit in Pakistan. As a client, you are always welcome to tour their plants and observe how they operate with regard to social responsibility and the environment.

Segers has received multiple visits from various external entities such as suppliers, customers, and the Japanese International Co-operation Agency (JICA), which have paid them multiple visits. Segers presented their Pakistan unit at JICA's seminar in Japan in September 2019 because the organization is quite impressed with their work on gender issues. One of the few female cutters in Pakistan, for instance, is employed by Segers. Among other things, employees have the right to work in well-lit, clean spaces with sufficient heating and ventilation. Even if the order books are not filled, employees still have the right to leave with their payment. Everyone is entitled to paid leave, extra pay, pension and insurance benefits, and working hours that are determined by the laws of their respective countries.

Beyond the apparent responsibilities of employers, Segers also assumes responsibility for assisting the local community. They support everything from purchasing school supplies and defibrillators for hospitals to supporting the local music school at their industrial facility in Ukraine.
